6. Does every missing tooth have to be replaced with an implant?

Not every lost tooth needs to be replaced with another one
supported by an implant. Mostly, the procedure involves placing
fewer implants than the missing teeth. Such treatment does
not affect the quality and proper functioning of the new teeth
and is more affordable for patients.

Example:
  • 3-4 neighbouring teeth missing normally require placing 2 implants;
  • individual teeth missing are normally restored by means of implants or bridges;
  • all teeth missing require 2-6 implants for the attachment of 14 new teeth;

The final decision as to the number of implants to be installed
as well as the method of tooth replacement is taken during
a consultation visit, and is based on the results of a thorough
examination, meticulous radiological diagnosis and the patient's
preferences and expectations.
