Navigation in Implantology
Computer assisted navigation is the most advanced and accurate method of placing an implant. It combines a preoperative 3D plan of the location and orientation of an implant with a dental navigation system. The technique, which guarantees the 0.1 mm accuracy, can be applied to placing both one and multi-tooth implants. Using the CT (computed tomography) data we plan the ideal position of an implant, taking into consideration factors such as the bone condition, expected size, shape and colour of the implant as well as its relation to the neighbouring teeth. Inserting implants in their optimal location is essential for the beauty and natural look of the teeth which are subsequently placed on them. Excessive deviation may also affect its future functioning. Once the final location of an implant has been established in a 3D image seen on the computer screen, a special surgical guide is created. The guide serves as a navigation tool for precise placing of the implant in the jawbone. Sanadent Clinic is the only clinic in Poland to have an applianc for creating
surgical guides, which guarantees inserting an implant in its ideal location. |
